The businesseswe work with.

We work across sectors. Almost all of our clients are owner-managed companies, and the same problems come up wherever they trade: pricing, cash, suppliers, hiring, and how to open in a new country. The sectors below are the ones we see most often.

11What owners ask us

Four questions we get in every sector.

The sectors are different. The questions owners ask us are much the same in every one of them, and it costs less to answer them early than late.

  1. 01

Where does the money actually go?

Most owners know their revenue and their bank balance and very little in between. We work out what each product, service or customer really costs and really earns. The answer usually changes what you sell, what you charge, and who you chase.

  2. 02

Why does everything take so long?

A job that should take two days takes two weeks and nobody can say where the time went. We follow the work from the order to the invoice, find the steps that add nothing, and take them out. Then we write down how it should run.

  3. 03

Should we open in another country?

Most often that means the United States, though it can just as easily be the UK, Spain or somewhere else in Europe. We look at what it costs to set up and to run, what has to be in place first, and what a realistic first year looks like. If the answer is to wait a year and do it properly, we will say so.

  4. 04

Is the team set up right?

Who does what, who decides what, and which jobs the owner is still doing because nobody else has been asked. We map it as it stands, say what should change, and help you get the next hire right.

If your sector is not on the list, ask us anyway.
